Driving through snow is not on anyone’s list of fun things to do. It becomes even less enjoyable when you feel your tires quit on a particularly slippery patch.

When it comes to ensuring safe winter driving, you have two choices. Either you buy snow tires, or you go with all-season radials. Which one is the correct option depends entirely on the environment you drive in.

The difference between snow tires and all-season radials seems small at first glance, but it is crucial. The treads on a snow tire have treads that are widely spaced. Snow tires are specifically designed so these larger spaces allow the tire to dig into and grip the snow better than a regular tire or an all-season radial would. This is a good choice to go with if you live in an area that experiences regular heavy snowfall.

Since 2001, true snow tires have been manufactured with a special symbol. If you see a stylized picture of a mountain within a snowflake inside it, then you can rest easy knowing that the tire was designed to cope with harsh winter conditions. Snow tires also carry a mud and snow designation, abbreviated to M/S, M+S, or M…S. All-season radials also carry this designation.

The treads on all-season radials are spaced closer together than the ones on snow tires. Although they can’t possibly match the snow traction of a tire specifically designed for winter conditions, they do provide a quieter ride.

It should be noted that heavier cars (and cars with front-wheel or all-wheel drive) usually handle snow better than lighter cars. If this description matches your vehicle and you live in an area that doesn’t get a whole of snow, then all-season radials may be the way to go.

No matter what kind of tire you choose, two things are vitally important. First, make sure all four tires are of the same type. This will provide optimum traction and vehicle handling. Second, exercise caution when driving. This will help you stay safe regardless of the weather.

There is a range of incentives for obtaining a Prado Land Cruiser and similar to all SUVs, the Prado has moreover been created for traveling on suitably constructed streets with not a hole for miles on end. There has been substantial contention on whether or not the things we buy reveal our character and the same applies to automobiles. I imagine the answer is rather clear. The apparel we wear, the cell phones we operate and the automobiles we ride all indicate a few, if not all, characteristics of our personality.

A shares trader by profession, I have a colleague who resides in the city and drives a Prado Land Cruiser. In spite of access to the beach and countless out of city destinations, which would need the advantage of an genuine Sports Utility Vehicle, besides an clear lack of appeal, a hard job and domestic schedule inhibits him from following these outings. So why did he expend a major amount of cash on a Prado that never touches a rugged patch?

The form and size have much to do with it. The massive power of the Prado is without doubt an irresistible feeling. My friend declare that even if he solely drives his Prado on city boulevards it gives him with a sensation of power and movement as if he were taking part in a statewide race. The Prado also exhibits a more zealous demeanor in individuals. A Prado can travel across nearly any terrain with its outstanding four-wheel drive abilities and that says a lot about the way an individual tackles a setback, a considerably effective image to indicate in his work.

Car makers have been addressing women in a few Sports Utility Vehicle marketing campaigns, showing attributes in these types of automobiles associated with self-reliance and boldness. Even though it is not a frequent thing to spot women driving a Prado, each time one is spotted it is sufficient to turn heads. There is something compelling about a woman driving a impressive Prado, being able to mobilize extensive force as well as any male.

The Prado Land Cruiser is also an exceptionally luxurious vehicle to travel in. I can still recollect the period when driving a Land Cruiser even on city streets suggested soreness and sudden thuds. The recent Prado has tremendously luxurious seating and can house close to eight passengers quite easily. Its safety and video specifications are also world-class adding extra value to the automobile.

Apart from these several points involved in purchasing a Prado, there is permanently a regular group of customers who obtain the Prado for its real function. These are the outdoor car enthusiasts that enjoy driving long stretches through rough area, effectively utilizing the off road aspect of the Land Cruiser. Whatever the grounds, all individuals that own a Prado have by no means wept over their plan and admire Toyota for crafting such a meritorious vehicle.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is an incredibly reliable and hassle free Sports Utility Vehicle.

It is always important to know about the product or the machine you want to buy. It would be wise to have the basic idea of what you would have to check before you buy it. Very recently I have seen jeeps for sale sign and wondered what kind of jeeps he is talking about.

The type of jeep and the purpose for which it is to be used has to be ascertained. You need to then examine the Jeep on Sale depending on the above criteria. If the price seems reasonable ask about the warranty. The reason for the low price should also be found out. There could be a specific reason, so make sure you know what it is. Don’t make a hasty decision.

What kind of jeep you are looking for depends on what exactly your needs are and what will be best suited for your use. Suppose you come across a hardly used almost fresh piece for sale, you should enquire in detail why it is being sold. If you feel that you are getting the jeep for a really cheap rate, remember to enquire about the jeep’s warranty details and question the owner about the low price. There may be some flaws lurking some where, so beware before you decide to buy it. Don’t take any rash decisions `in a hurry.

The more number of kilometers traveled lesser the price. The condition of the tyres should also be checked. A long test drive would help to determine their condition provided the owner is agreeable to this. Gears should not appear sluggish. Mileage is also another vital point.

Check the distance it has traveled, that could be helpful in bargaining if possible – greater is the distance traveled lesser the price. Check the condition of the tires, if they are worn out. May be you should take a long test drive -if the previous owner has no problem with that- and check if the gears are sluggish. Inquire about the vehicle mileage.

In case you are looking at a military Jeep check for cracks especially in those areas which take the maximum pressure. This is because military jeeps usually travel through rough and rugged terrain which could have an adverse impact on the vehicle. Also check out the engine condition of the Jeep.

If you find that by all means this is the best deal available in the market, only then put your money on that. Wish you get a jeep that solid as a stone.

Are you looking for a used Jeep for sale ? Why dont you check out some of the great deals available from our store. Perhaps you’re looking for a used Jeep Wrangler. Well, it’s your lucky day coz we sell them to. All just great deals for your money, treat yourself today.

The 2007 Chevy Tahoe is a popular full size SUV from General Motors. It is very similar to the GMC Yukon which was originally produced from 1992. The Chevy Tahoe was produced from 1995 and remains in production, having undergone had various changes over its history.

The original GMC Yukon which was the predecessor to the Tahoe was introduced to the market in 1992 and it was a two door version. In 1995 the first Chevy Tahoe was introduced in a four door version. The car went on to have various overhauls and redesigned to 1999.

The next generation, beginning in the year 2000, the vehicle was completely redesigned. All the vehicles in the line received significant updates but they were very largely similar with a few aesthetic variations. They also came as some advanced in car entertainment systems, often found in luxury vehicles, including stability control, Bose audio and a DVD entertainment system.

The year 2007 marks the beginning of the latest and present generation of the Chevy Tahoe. This was basically a hybrid version of the Yukon and this was also used again in the 2008 models and following models. It was also used in Mexico and became quite popular, used under the same product name.

The present generation of the Chevy Tahoe was established in the year 2007. This marked the beginning of a new era for the company, most notably with the introduction of a hybrid version of the Yukon. This hybrid version continued in production going for a few overhauls and remains on the market today.

The hybrid version allowed for electrical power as an alternative method of power in the car. However, it could also run and gasoline or even a mixture of the two by using an advanced automatic system. The automatic system monitored the vehicle’s torque, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly way of power in the car.

In 2007, the first hybrid car was also introduced. This allowed for electrical power as an alternative method of power in the car. With a 6 l V8 engine, it also had two electric motors powering a nickel-metal hydride battery. Using an extremely technologically advanced automatic system, which monitor the torque, it could run on both at the same time.

The current Chevy Tahoe enjoys being the only SUV in the world rated for pursuit. This is one of the reasons it is used in law enforcement agencies as it is efficient, reliable and safe. It has long enjoyed a special reputation for these three factors and continues to be produced.

The 2009 Ford Edge is a high-end crossover SUV manufactured by the Ford motor company, based on the Ford CD3 platform shared with the old generation Mazda6 and is marketed in a ever so slightly adapted form as the Lincoln MKX. The platform is shared with others, including the Mazda CX-9 crossover, the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and the Lincoln sedans.

Being a crossover car, the Edge tries to bridge the gap between the minivans like the Freestar, and the more truck-based SUVs such as the Ford Explorer. However, The Edge is officially positioned below the Taurus in Ford’s lineup of crossover SUVs, although it is not significantly smaller than the Taurus.

The 2009 Ford Edge is a 5 seat SUV vehicle which tries to meet the need for a spacious car with style. It is the latest in the range of Ford Edges and has several features that distinguishes it from its competitors. Ford claims that it should be regarded as half way between a minivan and a truck, and that it is so much more than just a car.

The 2009 Ford Edge is powered by a 3. 5 liter V6 engine that churns out approximately 265 horsepower with a six speed automatic transition. Front wheel drive is standard although all-wheel drive is available. This model has safety feature that include front impact, front seat-mounted, side-impact and front/rear curtain airbags, four wheel anti-lock brakes, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system as standard.

The Edge series made its debut at the 2006 NAIA Show in the January of 2006, and production of the 2007 model began in the October 2006, with the first ones being released just before December 25, 2006, due to issues with one of the suppliers. The 2009 Ford Edge utilizes Ford’s innovative front end design, with its usual three bar chrome grille.

The car’s fuel economy in the US is rated at fifteen to sixteen miles per gallon when in the city, and twenty-two to twenty-four miles per gallon on the highway. The Ford Edge is available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Initially introduced in 2007 with the three trim levels of SEL, SE, and SEL Plus, the latter was eventually replaced by the Limited trim in late 2008.

Standard accompaniments on all versions of the 2009 Ford Edge includes air conditioning; lumbar support on the driver’s seat; cruise control; power windows, door locks and mirrors; a remote keyless entry; tilt and telescopic steering wheel; and P235/65R17 tires with alloy wheels. The safety equipment on the car includes standard front airbags as well as front side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. There are anti-lock brakes, a innovative system to monitor tire-pressure and an electronic stability control.

I’m a bit of a 4WD buff, I always have been. From climbing impossible mountains to cruising through the sand dunes for an ocean fishing expedition, I just love getting out there, into places unreachable by foot or road.

On a recent trip, I hit a kangaroo at a low speed. Thankfully the kangaroo bounded off with little more than a fright and there was basically no damage to the vehicle. The incident got me thinking about frontal protection though. If I were going any faster, the damage to the jeep could have been significant, leaving us stranded and putting my family in harms way.

So I rang the guys at All Vehicle Accessories in Melbourne to get a bullbar installed. While chatting, they told me about these new pastic bullbars. Intrigued (as I’d never heard about them before) I jumped onto Google to do some research. Smartbars vs bullbars, what would protect us the best. Initially I found a lot of opinion and little fact, but digging a little deeper, a pretty clear picture emerged.

There are 3 things a bullbar (or frontal protection device) is supposed to protect. These are the vehicle, the passengers in the vehicle, and the object being struck in a collision.

Just to make it perfectly clear when we are comparing performance in this regard, we are only comparing performance at speeds up to and including fatal impact, not exceeding it. We aren’t really interested in the opinions that at 150kms/h, the pedestrian dies no matter what device you are using. Its a ridiculous argument. However we are interested in seeing how bullbars and smartbars protect our vehicle, passengers and pedestrians, at speeds where there is a chance for survival.

The two frontal protection devices perform differently as they have been designed to do different things. Bullbars have been designed to be the “unbreakable barrier”. They are intended to form a barrier between your vehicle and the collision that nothing can get through. Smartbars on the other hand have been designed, through their hollow polymer construction, to absorb, cushion and decelerate the forces of impact. Ie. To be a “frontal airbag” if you like, albeit for your car. When you look at the independent tests, there really is no escaping it. The fact is that up to the point of fatal impact, smartbars protect your vehicle, your passengers and pedestrians better than bullbars do.

To put this point in perspective though, into words you can feel, smartbars are made out of similar materials that they make those big wheelie bins from. Imagine you fell over in the street and smacked your head into a big iron postal box. It would hurt right? Now compare the same fall if your head hit the middle of one of those big wheelie bins. The bin would cushion the impact somewhat and the damage to your forehead would not nearly be so bad. (Or painful for that matter) Thats the way the smartbars work.

Topic 2. Performance – There is no argument that smartbars are significantly lighter than bullbars. This means better performance for your vehicle. To embellish, if you install a smartbar instead of a bullbar, your vehicle will have less tyre wear, less suspension wear and safer handling, just because it is lighter. They also provide better value for money than the alternatives and are more environmentally friendly. Manufacturing smartbars produces less than 1% of the green house gasses which the manufacture of metal bullbars produce. So performance wise, smartbars are more efficient with your car, your wallet and the environment.

And then there is maintenance. One thing I’ve learned to hate about 4WDing over the years is the polishing, buffing and the pure elbow grease required to keep metal parts rust free and shiney. With the smartbar, there are no metal parts. A bucket of soapy water and a sponge is all you need to clean it and get back to planning your next trip.

These are the facts I’ve found when comparing the traditional bullbar against the newer smartbar alternative. I encourage you to do your own research when considering frontal protection, I’m sure new information about these products will come up in the future, but currently to my mind, there is no choice. I know which product my front fender will be sporting tomorrow.

Looking for advice on frontal protection, Damian Papworth turned to the experts at All Vehicle Accessories

As a crossover vehicle, the Edge bridges the gap between those minivans that are like the since discontinued Freestar, and truck-based sport utility vehicles such as the Explorer. The Edge officially slots below the Taurus X in Ford’s crossover SUV lineup, although it is not much smaller than that model.

The 2009 Ford Edge uses a 3. 5 liter V6 engine that churns out over 250 horsepower, as well as a x6 speed automatic transition. Of course, front wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive is an optional extra. This model has several impressive safety features, including front/side and front/rear airbags, anti-lock brakes on all four wheels, an ESC, and a sophisticated tire-pressure monitoring system.

The 2006 NAIA Show in January 2006 saw the debut of the Edge series, and production began on the 2007 model in the October of 2006. Due to a brief delay in production the first order was delayed and only just managed to reach dealerships before Christmas 2006. This delay was down to an undisclosed dispute with the supplier.

The 2009 Ford Edge has a fuel economy that is rated at 15 to 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 to 24 miles per gallon on the highway. As mentioned above, the Edge is available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive and uses Ford’s front end design with its distinctive three-bar chrome grille. Although the 2007 series was introduced with the three trim levels of SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, the 2009 series has dispensed with the SEL Plus version.

The 2009 Ford Edge has standard features that include cruise control; air conditioning; driver’s seat lumbar support; power windows, power mirrors and power door locks; tilt and telescoping steering wheel; P235/65R17 tires on alloy wheels; and remote keyless entry. Its safety features include standard airbags as well as side curtain and front side-impact airbags, traction control, anti-lock brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and an electronic stability control.

The 2007 Chevy Tahoe is a highly popular full size SUV from the big American company, General Motors. It has proven to be one of the more successful SUV is and has been around for quite some years now, our region are being introduced back in 1992 in an earlier form.

While the original GMC Yukon was the predecessor for the Tahoe, it was introduced to the public in 1992. This was only a two doors version but in 1995 with the coming of the new Chevy Tahoe, there was a four door version. Having undergone numerous redesigned and overhauls, the product start to change dramatically by 1999.

The next generation of the product line up began in 2000. At this point, the vehicle had undergone very many redesigns and also had received significant updates to the engine and many other aspects of the vehicle. Because within the product line itself remained largely similar to each other however, with just a few aesthetic variations.

The second generation of the car was introduced in 2000, and at this time, the vehicle was largely redesigned. All of the vehicles in the product line received very significant updates and performance upgrades but all the products on the line largely similar to each other with just a few aesthetic variations.

The cars were considered fairly luxury, coming with an abundance of extra features which make them especially comfortable and pleasant family and touring cars. Some of models introduced in the year 2000 included stability control, high powered audio systems and DVD Entertainment.

The beginning of the current generation of the product line was Martin 2007 with the introduction of the hybrid version of the Yukon. This also became quite popular in Mexico and it also use the same product name. It was introduced again in the 2008 models.

With very high performance and a good track record with safety, reliability and economy, the car became widely popular for a wide variety of purposes. It is also, most notably, the only pursuit rated SUV currently on the market today. This is the main reason why it was chosen by the police services and a special package was designed specifically for them.
